I am honoured to have served as your Trustee for the Calgary Catholic School District, including serving as current Board Chair.
I am asking for your support as I seek re-election on October 20, 2025.
I believe that every child no matter their learning abilities deserves an education in a safe and caring learning environment with access to resources that will allow them to become lifelong learners, who value service to the community and are confident to take on the world when they graduate from Calgary Catholic schools.
All children are a gift from God and educating our children is an investment in our future.
I am proud of my long-standing commitment to Calgary Catholic and Catholic education. My experience as a trustee, as a parent of children who attended Calgary Catholic and as a long-term volunteer with Calgary Catholic related organizations provides me a broad understanding of students in our communities and the Calgary Catholic School District.
My commitment to supporting Catholic education is based on my belief that Catholic education nurtures our next generation of leaders and equips them to be innovative, creative and faith centred.
I am passionate about providing a choice to parents who seek Catholic Faith as a priority for their children's education. I will continue to protect the rights of publicly funded Catholic education and work to ensure the sustainability of the Catholic education system.
I hold a Chartered Professional Accountant designation as well as an ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors. My education and financial professional experience makes me an effective school trustee. As a trustee, I have demonstrated effective skills in communication, leadership, strategic thinking, effective stewardship, fiscal responsibility and big picture thinking. My background has taught me the value of being open-minded, patient and collaborative.
To guard and protect Catholic education, Catholic education must be authentic and balanced with successful educational outcomes and proper management, fiscal oversight and governance practices that have a view to sustainability.
Land Acknowledgement
I acknowledge that we are gathered here on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy, including the Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai Nations. I also acknowledge the territory of Treaty Seven, that is also home to the Tsuut'ina Nation and the Stoney Nakoda First Nations of Bearspaw, Chiniki, and Wesley, and the Métis Nation-Region 3, and all the people who make their homes in the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta.
I acknowledge all the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit whose footsteps have marked these lands for centuries. I respect and affirm the inherent and treaty rights of Indigenous people. I recognize the contributions of the Métis, Inuit and all Indigenous peoples have made and continue to make in shaping and strengthening our community and country.
